The school library aims to provide students with a variety of print and digital resources to assist students in their studies and promote recreational reading.


Opening Hours

The library is open to students for study and reading:

·         Before school at 8.15am

·         Major and Minor breaks


Homework Centre

Homework Centre is available to students Monday and Thursday afternoons 3.15-4.30pm. Students are expected to work independently or within groups on homework and assessment.  Assistance is available from selected teachers and tutors. There are no buses available at this time so students must be able to make their own way home.

There is a strict sign in procedure so that every student is accounted for. If a student wishes to leave before 4.30pm they must have parental/guardian permission in the form of a signed letter.



The library includes:

·         Fiction books catering to a variety of reading interests and abilities

·         Non-fiction books to support the curriculum and engage students’ general interests

·         Tablets are available to research and type assignments.  In break times students must provide their student ID card

·         World Book Online – the encyclopaedia is available online for students to use at school or at home on   The school username and password can be found in students’ diaries or can be obtained from the library


Book Loans

·         Book loans are available for two weeks and are expected to be returned or renewed on time (see Borrowing Policy attached)

·         Students are expected to show their ID Card to borrow

·         Library loan limits:

    • Year 11 & 12 – 8 books

    • Year 10 – 6 books

    • Year 8 & 9 – 4 books


Text Book Hire

Text Book Hire can be found at the end of the Visual Art Block.

It is open Monday-Friday at Major break only.

Students are expected to show their ID Card to borrow.
